MY STORY

Trauma-Informed Care Rooted in Connection, Spirituality, and Neuroscience

Hi there! My name is Dr. Keana Fairfax, DSW. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. At this time, my practice is focused on working with adults and couples.

This work is my calling. I provide integrative, trauma-informed care for African American adults and couples who are trauma survivors or are currently navigating traumatic stressors. This includes relational wounds and betrayal (including infidelity), childhood wounds, grief and loss, and major life transitions such as divorce, death, and empty nesting. I also support clients impacted by interpersonal violence and violations of safety, including sexual abuse or assault, physical abuse, and emotional abuse.

I employ a mindful, spiritually informed approach, incorporating Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Brainspotting, with care tailored to each client’s needs and goals.

I take a relational and responsive approach to therapy. I’m less focused on quick fixes and more focused on getting to the root, moving at a pace your nervous system can hold, and revisiting goals as your relationship with yourself and your experiences shifts over time—so the change can last.

I work to become deeply attuned to each client, creating a supportive space where clients feel seen, understood, and supported as they build a new relationship with themselves and their lived experiences.

I am licensed in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Illinois, South Carolina, Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Alabama. Please find my South Carolina telehealth registration listing here: Social Work Telehealth Registration Listing - SCLL.
